When I’m working with people on their intuitive development, I am always stressing the importance of practice. The more you practice, the stronger your connection with your intuition becomes. But what does intuitive practice really mean, and how do you know where to start?

Community

Finding a supportive group with similar values and forming connections with like-minded people keeps us on track and provides helpful tools and resources. A community will encourage you to ask questions and relate to what you are experiencing. Surround yourself with teachers, mentors and other students who are on the same page and support your practice of intuitive thinking to help you get where you’re going.

We are social creatures by nature, and having a connection and sense of belonging will encourage you to be committed to your practice. You’ll find through conversations and sharing that doors will just open, taking your intuitive practice to a new level.

Work With a Teacher

Working with an intuitive teacher is critical because they provide you with their own experience and knowledge. They share with you wisdom and understanding it has taken them years to acquire. Intuitive teachers have been on your same journey, so they understand how to package what they’ve learned – bypassing the common mistakes so you can better navigate your own experience.

They share their own perspectives and unique intuitive teaching methods to pinpoint what’s getting in your way – ways that through your own approach aren’t visible to you. They have a neutral approach to what is a quite personal experience, along with empathetic support along the way.

Working with a teacher will save you time, frustration and help you steer clear of what too often creates discouragement. Intuition is a topic that requires explanation and deeper discussion. Learning from the people who came before you will fuel your own journey (and make it a whole lot easier!)

A Friend Who Holds You Accountable

It’s easy to get distracted – to lose focus in your practice. We have jobs, obligations, busy schedules, and it’s human nature to get sidetracked by things like social media. Unfortunately, that means our attention can become focused on these external factors.  A grounded friend can keep you on track, remind you that this is a priority for your personal growth, and encourage you to stay true to your inner compass.

Create a Stillness Schedule

Treat your intuitive practice as part of your daily schedule. Set a time every day to sit in stillness – whether it’s in the morning before your day, midday on a break, or in the evening.  By establishing a set time, you become consistent – accustomed to practicing and devoting that specific time to your development.
As you continue, you will notice that you crave this stillness. That you look forward to this time for yourself where you check in with your higher guidance. It will quickly become a habit and you’ll find your day isn’t right without it. The power of stillness is that it trains your mind to slow down, to become more thoughtful, and begin to naturally notice your unseen needs and desires, all while opening yourself up to receiving insight more easily.

Make Time For Yourself

Whether it’s walking, exercising, or spending time in nature – without distractions! This time alone grows the connection to ourselves, a deeper relationship with our feelings and thoughts, and what our inner wisdom is sharing with us.

I know we all have busy lives, but taking 5 minutes to sit and check-in with how you’re feeling will give you a chance to re-center and pause what’s going on outside of you. It allows the thoughts that are cluttering your mind to settle and allow you to see more clearly and neutrally. When you quiet the external triggers, you will start to hear your own intuition again.

I support people at all parts of their intuitive development and personal journey to overcome blocks to accessing your intuition, to fast-track your intuitive growth, and avoid common discouragement. If you’re looking for a grounded, modern approach to grow your intuition practice, I’d love to connect. Let’s chat!
